Earners of this micro-credential will acquire skills to install and troubleshoot Ground-Source Heat Pump (GSHP) systems and learn the overall system design of Geothermal systems. Earners will also learn how to select material, pumps, and fluids. In addition, earners will be exposed the proper drilling and trenching procedures.

This credential enables Energy Professional Practitioners, Registered Architects and Professional Engineers, as well as HVAC practitioners to open new markets and offers customers a low-maintenance, economical, and environmentally friendly alternative for their space conditioning needs.

Upon successful completion of the course and passing the IGSHPA installer's exam, earners are issued ISGHPA accreditation as an installer of GSHP systems. Earners receive an installer's card, certificate for 3 years, and 1 year membership with IGSHPA.

PSEG Long Island, The Renewable Energy and Sustainability Center (RESC) at Farmingdale State College, and New York Geothermal Energy Organization (NY-GEO) are pleased to offer the Certified Geothermal Inspector course for Long Island inspectors, and the Accredited Installer Workshop course for Long Island contractors. These courses are developed and administered by the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA).
