Honors Adaptive Leadership

The Honors College Adaptive Leadership Medallion requires knowledge of the principles and competencies of adaptive leadership and the ability to apply them in real-world situation. Three points (3) are required for this medallion. Activities 1and 2 are required and are 1/2 point each. The remaining 2 points are earned by completing optional activities listed below that total a minimum of 2 points.

Earning Criteria

Required: Write a research paper exploring an adaptive challenge our world is facing that includes a strategy for making progress on it. Students complete this requirement in CW 111. (1/2 Point)

Required: Work with a group of peers to create and offer a training experience about one or more of the adaptive leadership competencies. (CW111)

Optional: Successfully Complete the requirements as a Peer Leadership Education for one year. (2 points)

Optional: Create and/or facilitate an adaptive leadership workshop (1 point)

Optional: Record 2 radio spots for a radio station or write an article for a newspaper that teach/engage the community about an adaptive challenge and the application of adaptive leadership toward making progress on it. (1/2)

Optional: Work with a community group to provide adaptive leadership education. (1 point)

Optional: Partner with Emporia's Edge or comparable organization to provide adaptive leadership education. (1/2 point)

Optional: Service as an active member of a peer consultation team. (1/2).
