Leading XR Initiatives: Addressing Privacy, Security, and Ethics

Badge earners are able to conduct an initial analysis of the safety, privacy, security, and ethics challenges associated with the use of XR base technology in an instructional context. Individuals will be able to influence and create policy related to implementing XR technologies broadly at their institution. Participants can leverage the language and an understanding of how to bring awareness and inform conversations with campus stakeholders and with senior leadership.

Earning Criteria

Participants examined and analyzed campus XR implementation scenarios and the risks they pose to security, privacy, and ethics within legal and regulatory frameworks introduced in the course. Participants can review and analyze the implementation and support of immersive learning projects engaging students, faculty, university facility, and equipment in both on-campus and virtual settings with respect to privacy, security, and ethics.
