Cores to Code
Issued by
EarthScope Consortium
The earner of this badge completed a multi-week Cores to Code program from the Cascadia Region Earthquake Science Center (CRESCENT), focused on the interdisciplinary study of the earthquake history of the Cascadia subduction zone. They conducted geologic fieldwork in Humboldt Bay’s coastal marshes, collected marsh sediment cores, conducted laboratory analysis, and explored how geologic data are integrated into geophysical models. Students presented their findings to peers and instructors.
