Laser Safety Awareness

Earners of the Laser Safety microcredential are able to take the necessary measures to safely operate a laser or laser system, particularly a Class 3B or 4 laser. The earner can confidently: assess key elements of the laser such as wavelength; classification and power; identify potential beam and non-beam hazards; and implement the appropriate control measures to protect themselves and others.

Earners identified the most appropriate strategy to achieve a safe environment while operating a laser in each scenario. Feedback and rationale were provided throughout each asynchronous scenario activity.
