Earners can conduct an Impact of Race and Culture Assessment (IRCA) with clinical recommendations that consider cultural and intercultural competence and personal, familial, and cultural histories of a client suitable for use as a mitigating tool for sentencing in court.

Earners of this microcredential prepared a sample report suitable for use by the courts to inform sentencing. Earners used case studies and other resources to assess a client’s psychosocial development and made clinical recommendations that considered the role of anti-Black racism in their involvement with the criminal justice system, as well as the implications across their life trajectory. Earners were assessed by an instructor using a rubric and achieved level 3 or higher across 9 criteria.
