This Silver module on Financial Management is the second of three levels, that provide learning up to Masters level. The module introduces the three key financial statements and explains how financial ratios can be used to assess a company's operational efficiency, liquidity and profitability. An explanation and application of the concept of time value of money gives learners the skill to analyse important financial decisions, whether personal, or corporate decisions.

Earning Criteria

Learners complete activities for each of the skills described. To gain the Silver badge learners calculate the financial ratios for an example company relating to its operational efficiency, liquidity, profitability and long-term financial health. They evaluate the company’s performance based on a comparison of two consecutive years In addition they compare the ratios of the example company with industry averages and comment on the overall performance of the company.
