Coaching and Mentoring for Alumni

Earners will have an understanding of the role of an alumnus in mentoring current university students. They are able to identify principles and apply foundational models of the coaching and mentoring processes. They can recognise core competencies of a coach and mentor and differentiate between a preceptor, coach and mentor. They also understand the principles of adult learning and providing feedback in the mentor role.

Standards
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth.
The principle aim of these ‘benchmarks’ is to enhance the rigour of mentoring programs by setting standards for responsible mentoring. The benchmarks are also recommended as a platform for government and other bodies to determine eligibility for funding support to mentoring programs.
