Earn camera mastery: shooting on manual is the way to demonstrate the understanding of how the camera operates and how the settings work together. The knowledge of how each change of setting impacts the other demonstrates mastery and the photographer grows from there.

Earning Criteria

  • Attend the 16 weeks (one day a week) of the Introduction to Digital photography course (MCM 2430)
  • Complete all units of the Introduction to Digital Photography course with a grade of 90% or better (MCM 2430)
  • Submit 4-6 images for printing and framing, meeting the guidelines covered in the rule of thirds, sunny 16, and controlling the blur workshops
  • Curate, attend, and review the Life Through Word and Lens Gallery (organize and curate images for the show: edit, print, frame, hang, display/exhibit, interact with visitors and explain images)
