Earning Criteria

• This person has successfully demonstrated all of the knowledge and practical competencies required to achieve the Assembly and Installation of Aluminium Fittings.
• They can identify and select profiles from given specifications. Profiles: eg manufacturers’ reference number Identify/select: visual appearance, dimensions, location, suitability, cost. Identify and select glass from given specifications. Glass: thickness, tolerance Identify/select: visual appearance, dimensions, location, suitability, cost. Identify and select manufactured boards from given specifications. Board/sheet: chipboard, hardboard, medium density fibreboard (MDF), plywood.
• They can select and use tools and equipment to produce components for domestic products. Tools: eg hand tools, power tools, mechanical equipment. Produce: eg cutting, trimming, smoothing, finishin. Components: eg frames, glass, decorative sheets, beading, strips Products: swing door, casement window, sliding window, partitions, shop front. Select and use tools and equipment to set out and assemble components and accessories for domestic products.
