They are able to: Understand the impact legislation has on land-based industries, understand risk assessment requirements for land-based industries, understand safe working practices when working in land-based industries.
• This individual has achieved unit 208 Land-based engineering workshop practices. They are able to: Know requirements for working safely in land-based engineering workshops, use tools and workshop equipment for maintenance of land-based machinery, use fixings and hardware in land-based engineering workshops, dismantle and reassemble land-based machinery components, maintain and store tools and equipment.
• This individual has achieved unit 209 Transmission and driveline operation principles. They are able to: Understand the operating principles of land-based transmission systems, maintain and service transmission systems, operate transmission systems in land-based vehicles and machinery.
• This individual has achieved unit 210 Engine operation principles. They are able to: Know land-based engine types and configurations, understand components used in land-based engines, know systems for controlling emissions, service and maintain land-based engine systems.
