Earning Criteria

• This individual has achieved unit 201 Health and safety for the land-based industries. They are able to: Understand the impact legislation has on land-based industries, understand risk assessment requirements for land-based industries, understand safe working practices when working in land-based industries.
• This individual has achieved unit 202 Agricultural power units and machinery operation. They are able to: Know power unit components and operational checks, know types of machinery used in agricultural settings, operate power units using basic controls, complete hitching procedures for power units, operate agricultural machinery, maintain and store agricultural machinery.
• This individual has achieved unit 203 Crop husbandry. They are able to: Know agricultural crop types and uses, take representative soil samples for analysis, prepare for crop establishment, know crop nutrient requirements and methods of application, know signs and indicators of crop health, know requirements for the harvesting of crops.
• This individual has achieved unit 204 Farm animal production. They are able to: Know agricultural animal systems, types and uses, understand feeding systems for agricultural animals, know requirements for maintaining animal health and welfare, complete stock tasks on agricultural animals.
• This individual has achieved unit 205 Farm estate maintenance. They are able to: Use and maintain agricultural hand tools, complete agricultural boundary and drainage maintenance, complete basic agricultural structure maintenance activities.
