Earning Criteria

• This person can count up to 100 items; read/write/order/compare numbers to 200; recognise/sequence odd/even numbers to 100; recognise/interpret + –  x ÷ =; add/subtract two-digit numbers; multiply whole numbers (range 0x0 to 12x12); know hrs in day, wks in year; divide two-digit whole numbers by single-digit whole numbers; & express remainders; round to nearest 10, use this answer to check results; recognise simple fractions of whole numbers/shapes (1/2, ¼, 1/10s); read/write/use decimals to 1dp
• This person can calculate money in pence, up to £1  & for multiple items in whole pounds ; read/record time (common formats); read time (analogue clock-quarter/half/hour), understand 24-h digital clock; use length (mm/cm/m/km);  weight (g/kg); capacity (ml/l); read/compare positive temps; read/use simple scales; recognise/name/describe properties of 2-D/3-D shapes (No sides/corners/edges/faces/angles/ base); use vocab for position/direction (between, inside/outside, middle, forwards/backwards)
• This person can extract information from lists, tables, diagrams and bar charts; make numerical comparisons from bar charts; sort and classify objects using two criteria; take information from one format and represent the information in another format including use of bar charts
• This person can use their knowledge and skills to recognise a simple problem and obtain a solution. This person will be able to address individual problems each of which draw upon knowledge and/or skills from one mathematical content area (i.e. number and the number system; common measures, shape and space; information and data).
• This person can: use given mathematical information including numbers, symbols, simple diagrams and charts; recognise, understand and use simple mathematical terms use methods described earlier to produce, check and present results that make sense and present appropriate explanations using number, measures, simple diagrams, charts and symbols.
