They can correctly read words designated for Entry Level 3; identify, understand and extract the main points and ideas in and from texts; Identify different purposes of straightforward texts; use effective strategies to find the meaning of words; understand organisational features and use them to locate relevant information.

This individual can compose straightforward narratives, instructions, explanations, reports. They can use a range of punctuation, mostly correct grammar; form irreg. plurals and 1/2/3 place letters to put words in alpha order; spell correctly words designated for Entry Level 3*; communicate info/ideas/opinions in logical sequence; use headings/bullets, compound sentences, paras and appropriate detail/length, format/structure in straightforward texts and language appropriate for purpose/audience
