This micro-mode study offers an intermediate-level of understanding in the Yolŋu languages and culture of east Arnhemland. It equips you with some basic understanding of Yolŋu knowledge practice, including agreement and decision making process, and intermediate level of skills in translating, reading and writing Yolŋu texts. The completion of this study entitles you to credit transfer into Bachelor of Arts or Master of Arts at CDU.

6 weeks classroom participation: Internal students – CDU Casuarina campus; External students – CDU Learnline.

3 translation tasks: 1st assignment – Translate a story written in Gupapuyŋu Dhuwala’mirri language into English; 2nd assignment – Translate an intermediate level of story written in Gupapuyŋu into English; 3rd assignment – Translate two intermediate level of stories written in Gupapuyŋu into English.
