The badge earner has the fundamental knowledge and specific skills of testing composites, concepts, principles, inspection and methods employed for both destructive testing and nondestructive evaluation (NDE) of composites structures and materials.

Earning Criteria

Pass randomized question assessment mastery at an 80% or higher. Information regarding the assessment can be obtained from MSU Department of Engineering & Engineering Technology. Recommended test requirements include: identify properties to be measured according to specification; select appropriate test methods according to specifications; and select appropriate testing equipment according to standards and specifications.

Demonstrate and apply knowledge and characteristics of destructive and non-destructive testing techniques. Understand nondestructive testing technologies and their applications to composites materials. Apply quality control and quality assurance procedures in testing destructive and nondestructive testing and evaluation.
