Implicit Bias in Health Care (3 contact hours)

Participants will reflect on current implicit bias research and strategies to reduce disparities in health care; describe the neuroscience of implicit bias and identify several forms of bias; describe how cultural norms, language, and experiences shape decision making; and interpret the relationship between implicit bias and disparate access to health care services. Finally, participants will be able to explain a process to mitigate implicit bias in delivery of health care services.

Completion of one-hour asynchronous, online, interactive course with content focused on current implicit bias research in health care and the application of content to the health care setting.
