Earners of this badge have successfully completed one community engagement or service learning course. These courses are identified in the class schedule with an Attribute Code of R, O, or EC for Required, Optional, or Extra Credit Community Engaged Learning or Service Learning course. Through these courses students apply course learning to benefit the community. Students learn about community issues and social change. Activities take place with community partners.

Earning Criteria

Students must pass the community engagement course with a C or better, and provide the name of the community partner organization, the contact information of their supervisor at the organization, and a confirmation of hours completed with the organization or a description of the project.
