The Student Engagement Leaders Skill Badge validates a student’s skills in cultural competency, emotional intelligence, and peer communication developed through supporting new and returning students. As role models and ambassadors, SELs provide responsive, service-oriented support by helping peers navigate campus, connect with resources, and feel welcomed at BHCC. Training in resource navigation, time management, and reflective practice enables effective, high-impact peer support.

Earning Criteria

Completion of 12 hours of specialized SEL Training across two (2) academic semesters.
Successful performance for two (2) semesters as a Student Engagement Leader in the Office of Student Leadership & Engagement (SLE).
