This advanced English class provides students with grammatical skills such as modals as well as critical vocabulary for use in the workplace, community and for students transitioning into intermediate college-level ESL courses. This course is designed to develop students' reading, writing, listening and speaking skills at a advanced level.

Within the Four Domains of English (Listening, Reading, Speaking, & Writing) the student will be able to: 1. Correctly use gerunds/infinitives with verbs & prepositions; 2. Conjugate & differentiate between the present perfect & the present perfect continuous; 3. Effectively use transitive & intransitive phrasal verbs; 4. Use past modals to show regret/remorse; 5. Form embedded wh- questions; and 6. To effectively discuss personality traits, safety procedures, job training & medical issues.

Student will complete a final assessment through Four Domains of English (Listening, Reading, Speaking, and Writing) requiring a 70% or better to be successful.
