The International Tutor Training Program Certification (ITTPC) is an accredited certification by the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) since 1989. This certification provides recognition and positive reinforcement for tutors while also upholding exemplary standards for the training and skills they receive. Tutors with this certification understand the basics processes, as well as metacognitive and psychosocial aspects of tutoring.

Earning Criteria

This certification opportunity is available to current University Tutoring Services (UTS) tutors at Binghamton University who have completed the CRLA-Level 1 certification.

Tutors are required to attend an additional 5 hours of in-person training and complete an additional 5 hours of online training.

To earn this credential, tutors must receive a satisfactory staff evaluation, undergo a minimum of 122 hours of training, and provide at least 50 hours of tutoring.
