The International Tutor Training Program Certification (ITTPC) is an accredited certification by the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) since 1989. This certification provides recognition and positive reinforcement for tutors while also upholding exemplary standards for the training and skills they receive. Tutors with this certification demonstrate understanding of the basics of holding a tutoring session.

Earning Criteria

Tutors undergo regular evaluations (once a semester) to solidify that they are meeting CRLA standards and employing effective tutoring methods outlined in ITTPC training.

Tutors are required to hold at least 25 logged hours of tutoring to receive certification. These hours are tracked through online scheduling software and confirmed by the Director of University Tutorial Services.

Tutors are required to attend 8 hours of in-person training and 4 hours of online training on the basics of tutoring. 12 hours total of training must be completed before certification is awarded.
