Earning Criteria

• Earner has completed essential iHASCO training for food handling and Health and Safety. Earner has applied their training to their work practices by locating and using the Allergy folder, probe calibration to have accurate temperature readings while cooking, and practising personal and basic food hygiene.
• Earner has extensive knowledge of the Real Ideas menu; this includes making food to order and preparing various food items in advance. Earner knows where we source our ingredients and can relay this information to customers who want to know more about the company’s menu.
• Earner has demonstrated the ability to closely follow instructions through how they serve food in the café. Portions, presentation, and plating are aligned with Real Ideas guidelines to give customers a consistent dining experience.
• Earner has followed the Food Standard Agency’s ‘Safer food, better business’ procedures. Earner understands how to avoid cross-contamination, use effective cleaning methods, stock storage and management, and how to correctly (and safely) cook food. Earner has written in the SFBB diary after every shift to document any issues and keep a clear line of communication with management.
• Earner has shown awareness for Real Ideas food budget and customer safety by rotating stock, correctly labelling opened food items and displaying the right amount of stock to offer variety while minimising wastage.
