Credentialled diabetes educator
The Australian Diabetes Educator Association (ADEA) Credentialled Diabetes Educator (CDE) badge recognises healthcare professionals with specialist knowledge in diabetes education and management. Badge holders have completed the ADEA credentialling program, including verified diabetes education practice hours, practical skills assessment, microcredentials, and six months mentoring. They have demonstrated level 1 competency in the National Competencies for Credentialled Diabetes Educators.

The Credentialled Diabetes Educator (CDE) certification requires candidates to hold current registration in an approved health discipline and have completed an ADEA-approved postgraduate course in diabetes education and management. Candidates must also demonstrate competency in the practical skills assessment, complete six months of mentoring, and achieve a minimum of 80% for successful completion of microcredentials.
