SPEX-086 Leading Equitable Evaluation Through Practice

This course equips students with the skills needed to conduct culturally responsive and equitable evaluation (CREE). The course introduces the methodology used to conduct a CREE and examines how to apply different methods to guide program improvement. It also explores how to use the results of CREE to inform community advocacy, decision-makers, and policy change that support equity and responsiveness.

Discuss: Throughout this course students critically analyze, synthesize, and evaluates the impact of structural and cultural factors (e.g. historical, social, economic, racial, ethnic, gender) on evaluation design and implementation.

Identify: In week 1, students identify, through focused reading, the framework, and methodology used to conduct CREE. They also reflect on what they have learned from the course.

Discuss: During week 2, the students discuss the impact of structural and cultural factors (e.g. historical, social, economic, racial, ethnic, gender) on evaluation design and implementation.

Select: In week 3, students, through research and discussion in data collection, select the appropriate methods to conduct CREE.

Apply: In week 4, the students apply, through a presentation project, CREE approached to Evaluation.
