Earning Criteria

APS Fellowship is a distinguished honor, signifying recognition by one’s professional peers for exceptional contributions to physics. Eligible individuals are nominated and evaluated by their unit’s Fellowship Committee, as defined by unit bylaws. These committees rigorously review nominations and recommend candidates for election. Following approval by the APS Committee on Honors and the APS Council Steering Committee, the APS President formally notifies the elected Fellow and key stakeholders.
