Earners of this micro credential have knowledge, skills and confidence needed to have conversations with individuals at risk for suicide. Earners understand the scope and impact of suicide, risk factors, and specific strategies for suicide prevention and intervention. They have also examined personal reactions to dealing with suicidal ideation & behaviors in order to provide thoughtful responses to at risk people. Earners receiving this micro credential prior to April 2024 have attended a 6 hour, live, on-line course presented by psychologist Larry Berkowitz, and OTs Stephen Nawotniak and Quinn Tyminski. Those receiving after April 2024 will have attended a hybrid program.
