Professionals who hold the Certificate of Mastery in Infection Prevention (CMIP) have completed a three phase assessment-based certificate program offered by AHE. The course content meets the CMS requirements for a “trained” professional in infection prevention & control. Knowledge, training and evidence-based protocols effective in eliminating the risk of transmission of pathogens are taught in this course.

The CMIP program is delivered in three distinct phases designed to cultivate a deep understanding of infection prevention practice. The program explores the most critical topics in infection prevention, including microbiology and epidemiology; patient and health care worker safety; surveillance, risk assessment and outbreaks; antimicrobial stewardship; evidence-based cleaning practices and environmental monitoring; and prevention infection during construction and emergencies.
