Individuals who hold the Certificate in Non-acute Care Cleaning (CNACC) have completed training and passed a proficiency exam focused on the tasks and accountabilities of cleaning technicians working in non- acute care settings such as outpatient, long-term care and behavioral health facilities, or construction cleaning. Technician training focuses on subject areas of proper sterilization & disinfection techniques of equipment and rooms, standardized procedures & protocols for chemical use.

Earning Criteria

Non-acute care technicians are required to complete 24 hours of CNACC training presented by a designated trainer (T-CNACC). The training emphasizes the importance of proper cleaning & disinfection techniques for equipment and room settings, standardized procedures & protocols for chemical use, as well as application of critical-thinking skills in non-acute care settings. Upon program completion, technicians take the certification exam, and if they pass, they become CNACC-certified.
