Upon completion of this badge, earners will be fluent in topics of intersectionality and positionality for personal and professional development. Earners will demonstrate an understanding of written works by critical theorists of color and apply this knowledge to everyday life. Earners will also develop a reflexive writing strategy and foster a personal voice of activism.

Earning Criteria

Complete Intersectional Writing course, consisting of six hours of critical multimedia instruction.

Attend one on-campus event that directly correlates with identity and professional development.

Submit two 300-400 word writing samples about personal and professional experiences relating to social identity.

Submit seven reflections connecting course content to everyday life.
Standards
Identify and respond to needs based upon an understanding of situational context and logical analysis of relevant information.
Demonstrate the awareness, attitude, knowledge, and skills required to equitably engage and include people from different local and global cultures. Engage in anti-racist practices that actively challenge the systems, structures, and policies of racism.
Clearly and effectively exchange information, ideas, facts, and perspectives with persons inside and outside of an organization.
