Individuals who validate their competence in auditing inpatient coding do so by meeting or exceeding a pre-established passing standard as a result of completing a comprehensive, three-hour auditing inpatient coding assessment, developed by AHIMA subject matter experts, and developed in accordance with best practices for assuring competence in a specific role, domain, topic, or skill.
