The earner of this badge is able to demonstrate ten Empathetic Leadership competencies which are taught through experiential learning using the Kolb's Cycle of Learning. In this 50 hours of dynamic training, the earner led live student cohorts, developed lesson plans and led real-world scenarios. Earners of this badge have experienced practical and systemic learning – gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities to enhance their facilitation experience.

Earning Criteria

Earners of this badge completed the Courageous Leadership Alliance, INC. Empathetic Leadership Level III Certificate Program and demonstrated an ability to instruct outcomes using John Dewey's Learning Module and Kolb's Cycle of learning. During the 1.5-hour facilitator validation, the earner was required to show the competence of factual (what), conceptual (why), and procedural (how) knowledge in each of the ten modules.
Earners of the badge have completed ten modules of the Empathetic Leadership Certificate program: (1) Why Empathetic Leadership, (2) Empathy As A Leadership Skill, (3) Steps to Cultivate Empathetic Leadership, (4) Creating an Empathetic Mindset, (5) Measurable Benefits of Empathetic Leadership, (6) Creating Community and Connection, (7) Communicating with Empathy (8) Building a Culture of Empathetic Leadership, (9) Creating Policies and Programs, and (10) The Power of Empathetic Organizations.
Earners of this badge have at least two years of teaching, facilitation, coaching, curriculum, or instructor experience. Badge earners also have a minimum of a four year undergraduate degree and at least five years of leadership experience.
