This course goes through the rules of evidence, primarily focusing on the Federal Rules of Evidence. The course discusses how issues of evidence are raised and decided and concepts such as judicial notice and appeals of evidentiary issues. It also focuses on relevance, character evidence and the many exceptions to the prohibition on character evidence. It next turns to authentication, privilege and witness testimony. The course winds up with a discussion of the hearsay rule.
