Earning Criteria

Become a Registered Professional Planner (RPP), Licensed Professional Planner (LPP), Urbaniste, or equivalent by successfully completing the requirements, as determined by a Provincial and Territorial Institute and Association (PTIA).
Complete a minimum one-year mentorship period.
Achieve acceptable professional planning experience and competency
Pass an ethics and professionalism exam
Be a current member in good standing of a PTIA and the Canadian Institute of Planners

Adhere to a code of conduct that requires them to practice in an ethical and responsible manner

Fulfill annual professional learning requirements to help maintain their professional competence.
