The JET program focuses on equity and social justice in teaching practices, including creating inclusive learning spaces and mentoring students. By centering community-building and collaboration with students and peers, participants develop skills to effectively communicate about power and privilege through an intersectional equity lens. Participants increase awareness of their biases and unpack stereotypes regarding different identity groups, and commit to intervene in instances of oppression.
