Earning Criteria

Must be an employee of IBM CIO, and have experience with GitHub and CI/CD pipeline. The program is available worldwide.

Must have completed the GitHub and CI/CD for z/OS workshop as a participant or have demonstrated equivalent experience.

Be recommended by a manager or volunteer to be a mentor by responding to a call for participation prior to each workshop. Mentors should have different combinations of familiarity with GitHub, CI/CD pipeline and z/OS applications, demonstrated by active participation in the CIO Developer Experience developer communities.

Demonstrated mentoring and coaching skills and the ability to effectively communicate knowledge of DevOps transformation activities that include Migration of z/OS application to GitHub; Set up of DBB User Build; Set up development environment and CI/CD pipeline configuration; Collaborative workflows with remote repositories (PRs, merges, trunk-based development); Demonstrated soft skills and technical leadership skills by clearly communicating technical concepts and demonstrating collaboration.

Apply technical skills to help participants succeed during a 5-week workshop dedicated to teaching the skills for working with Git, GitHub, and the CIO CI/CD pipeline. Demonstrate deep understanding by mentoring participants through entirely or at least partially migrating z/OS applications to the CI/CD pipeline on Cirrus 1.0.

Criteria for evaluation will include daily participation, engagement with workshop participants and fellow mentors and success rate of workshop participants who complete daily tasks. A minimum success rate of 80% is required to earn the badge.
