Digital Presentation Fundamentals

It emphasizes audience analysis, presentation tools and methods, and strategies for engaging slide design. Faculty participants will engage in active, rigorous discussion boards. Successful participation includes creating one original post that analyzes and applies a reading from the module.That post must quote the reading, and explore ways it serves as a foundational concept. Participants must then identify ways that content can play a role in the participant’s teaching practice. Participants must also respond and engage with at least two additional discussion board posts.

Deliverable Assessment: Faculty participants are asked to develop, remix or revise an assignment that leverages digital presentations in the classroom. This deliverable is multipronged and includes an assignment description, the course it targets, and a list of student learning outcomes that it addresses. Participants are also asked to source media and other digital resources to accompany the assignment. Faculty must submit a sample of the completed assignment.

Module Assessment: To evaluate faculty participant success in the Digital Presentation Module, HELM instructors review the rigor and substance of faculty submissions to the Digital Presentation discussion board, and also their engagement with the HELM cohort. Additionally, instructors use a rubric to evaluate deliverables for substance, classroom efficacy and target audience engagement. Faculty participants will spend approx 6 hours on module completion. completion.
