The TVET Leadership Programme is an ILM Recognised programme of learning, created and delivered by the British Council and Ministry of TVE, financed by the European Union, for senior leaders in Technical and Vocational Education and Training in Libya. The programme aims to develop knowledge and skills by delivering three 40-hour modules of leadership and management training enhanced by work-based assignments to support and consolidate the learning.

Earning Criteria

Leadership Styles: Understand different leadership styles and be able to analyse their own predominant style. Evaluate what styles suit particular situations to have maximum impact on outcomes. (This is based on the research work of Goleman)

Leadership and Management: Understand the difference between Leadership and Management activities and analyse and/or evaluate their own behaviour in relation to their current role in their organisation

Change Management: Apply the Four Rooms of Change theory to their own experience. Analyse why there is resistance to change and understand how to overcome it. (This is based on the research work of F. Janssen)

Strategy and Planning: Create an ‘Organisational Development Plan’ for their institution or department by applying a series of tools including PEST, SWOT and RACI approaches.

Communication: Compose a communications strategy for one of their goals and understand how to communicate effectively using verbal, non-verbal and written modes.
