The Research Project is an opportunity for self-directed and motivated learners to deep-dive into an area of interest as they undertake an academic research project. Students will: learn key academic research skills; design a research question; complete a literature review; undertake an investigation and provide a critical analysis of findings.

Earning Criteria

Application: The candidate must meet with the delegated research mentor to discuss the proposed project ideas, reserach objectives, requirements and commitment. The candidate must submit a formal application.

Project Design: The candidate will work with the mentor to determine the nature, scope and timeline for the project.

Research Skills: The candidate must have completed learning in the area of academic integrity, literature search and academic referencing prior to commencing this project.

Reserach: The candidate will undertake the research investigation, collect data and critically analyze the findings. The mentor will meet the candidate at regular intervals to provide feedback/ guidance. The finished research product (paper, video etc.) must include all required elements outlined in the guidelines and criteria for the research project microcredential.

The students will present work with findings & discussion by way of a short verbal presentation and product: e.g. research paper; powerpoint; video, or other mode by negotiation.The candidate will present and discuss their completed work with academic staff.
