Competency: Foundations in Education Abroad
Earners are able to articulate the Standards of Good Practice in Education Abroad and apply them in various contexts. They are competent in using the Standards and the Code of Ethics to guide their professional work, are knowledgeable of best practices, and know where to find resources to support their work. They are competent in communicating the importance of the Standards and Code of Ethics to various stakeholders and assessing education abroad operations based on these Standards.Additional Details
Complete five required assignments to assess the candidate's ability to: 1) articulate the importance of the Standards; 2) apply the Standards in real-world situations; 3) identify and analyze ethical issues in real-world situations; 4) analyze an international education mission statement in relation to its activities, objectives, and aspirations.
Assignments meet established rubrics as determined by two Forum Certified Assessors, professionals in the field with senior level experience and in depth knowledge of the Standards of Good Practice. Participants must resubmit assignments to incorporate feedback from the assessors until the assignment meets the competency requirement.
