The course objective is to prepare students for completion of Motors, Level II. Some topics include the starting and braking of motors and the principles of electronic variable-speed. The speed control section introduces electronic DC and AC variable-speed drives as well as eddy-current and magnetic clutches. The student will learn how to troubleshoot motors and decide an appropriate course of action for repair.
