This person has successfully demonstrated all of the knowledge and practical competencies required to achieve the Skills Proficiency Certificate in Basic Motorcycle Repair.

They can maintain safe working conditions, adopt safe procedures for themselves and others and can select and use equipment and materials in a correct and safe manner including special hand and power tools. They will know the principles of workshop layout and be aware of the associated workshop dangers. They can demonstrate how to secure motorcycles prior to work being carried out on them.

They can wire appliance plugs and solder terminals and electrical wire. They can also inspect, remove and replace; engine, petrol fuel, ignition, cooling, braking and suspension, transmission and electrical system components understanding their basic operating principles. They can also remove and replace body panels and tyres.
