It provides important learning supportive of future studies in the arts, design, architecture and other creative industries. A number of photographic skills and usage of photography are explored both in theory and practice.

This individual has successfully completed four modules over 2 academic years.

This individual has successfully completed two module portfolios designed to build skills to create a personal response to a theme. This included research and development of an idea based on various photographers. This involved written and photographic work covering: understanding photography through hand and digital manipulation; experimentation and making; reviewing and refining; and communication of their ideas in a personal and conceptual response presented as their final piece(s).

This individual has successfully completed study in the following aspects of photography: manipulation of images; scale in natural and urban landscapes; and the use of photography in reportage and fine art.

This individual has successfully completed the final two modules (2 stages of one project), as a self-led photographic assignment. The individual developed a project brief, used a range of recording media for ideas, and then developed their theme into a portfolio of work, culminating in a final piece. This work has built on skills developed across previous modules. Their project portfolio included development annotation and a detailed review of their ideas and outcomes.

This individual has shown competence in essay writing and communication skills demonstrating critical thinking and personal analysis in structured written form.

This individual has been assessed, to a detailed assessment scheme, on all four programme modules, and has successfully achieved all required learning outcomes.
