Earning Criteria

• The qualification covers the following skills:
• Health, safety and welfare in construction; Principles of building construction, information and communication; Apply plastering materials to Interiors; Fix dry lining and plasterboards to interiors; Prepare background surfaces and mix plastering materials; Applying scratch coats to internal Backgrounds; Fixing sheet materials
• Learners will also take a range of optional units covering the following skills:
• Applying floating coats to wall; Applying setting coats to wall; Principles of building construction, information and communication; Apply plastering materials to interiors; Laying sand and cement screeds; Applying plastering materials to external; Produce reverse moulds for fibrous work; Casting and fixing fibrous plasterwork backgrounds
• They know:
• How to identify information used in the workplace; about environmental considerations in relation to construction; about construction of foundations; about construction of internal and external walls; about construction of floors; about construction of roofs; how to communicate in the workplace
• They will:  Know the processes to prepare background surfaces; know how to prepare for mixing plastering materials; know how to mix plastering materials; know how to apply scratch coats to internal backgrounds; know how to measure, cut, and fix plasterboards; know how to measure, cut, and fix pre-formed beads and EML; know how to apply floating coats to walls; know how to apply setting coats to walls.
• They know:
• The health and safety regulations, roles and responsibilities;  accident and emergency reporting procedures and documentation;  how to identify hazards in the workplace;  about health and welfare in the workplace;  how to handle materials and equipment safely;  about access equipment and working at heights;  how to work with electrical equipment in the workplace;  how to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE);  the cause of fire and fire emergency procedures
• They will:
• Understand how to select types of building information;  know about environmental considerations in relation to construction;  understand the construction of foundations;  understand construction of internal and external walls;  know about construction of floors;  know about construction of roofs;  understand how to communicate in the workplace.
• They are able to:
• Understand how to interpret information for interior work;  interpret information from drawings and specifications relating to interior work;  understand how to select and prepare materials for interior work;  select and prepare equipment and materials for  interior work;  understand how to apply one, two and three-coat plastering to interior backgrounds;  apply one, two and three-coat plastering to interior backgrounds
• They are able to:
• Understand how to interpret information for fixing dry lining and plasterboards;  interpret information from drawings and specifications for fixing dry lining and plasterboards;  understand how to select materials and components for fixing dry lining and plasterboards;  select materials and components for fixing dry lining and plasterboards;  understand how to fix dry lining and plasterboards;  fix dry lining and plasterboards
• They maybe able to:

• They maybe able to:
