This qualification is aimed at learners aged 16 and above who would like to gain the basic knowledge and skills required during their initial training to become a Boatbuilder, either as part of their Apprenticeship or as full time students. Earning Criteria

To achieve the Level 2 Diploma in Boatbuilding (Foundation), learners must achieve mandatory units 201, 202 and 203. They are able to:

Understand the range of services available within the global marine industry, Understand the terminology used to recognise boats & equipment, Understand the environmental, Health & Safety rules and regulations applicable to the marine industry, Understand employment roles & responsibilities, Know how to contribute to selfdevelopment and create & maintain effective working relationships, Know how to contribute to the effectiveness of boat production & support services

To achieve the Level 2 Diploma in Boatbuilding (Foundation), learners must achieve two optional units from units 204-207.
