Earning Criteria

  • This learner has completed the mandatory unit: Basic principles of communications systems.
  • This learner has completed the optional unit Copper cabling in an internal environment. They understand basic electrical theory and safety with reference to data communications cabling. They are able to work safely with copper cabling in an internal environment; install copper communications cabling, following recommended installation procedures in line with current applicable standards; terminate copper communications cabling; test FTP/UTP and multicore copper links.
