This course has been developed for those responsible for the management of water hygiene or their deputies (managers or those designated the role of Responsible Person). This course enables learners to understand the importance of managing water hygiene related risks, roles, responsibility and liabilities, and of the use of important techniques such as development of an adequate risk assessment, risk minimization schemes, monitoring and audit in order to achieve compliance.

Through a written open book assessment and course workbook, the learner has demonstrated their understanding of the responsibilities in carrying out the management of water hygiene Responsible Person role. They have demonstrated knowledge of legionella, how to discharge their roles and responsibilities, the legal requirements including the duty to manage Legionella, risk assessment, written scheme of control and suitable records and monitoring.
