Through a closed book assessment, the learner showed an understanding of the principles of operation of a wide range of biomedical equipment and the principles of operation of biomedical equipment with reference to human physiology, and possible hazards associated with the use and maintenance of biomedical equipment.

Through practical assessments conducted throughout the course, the learner showed an understanding of how to perform electrical safety test to verify the safe use of medical equipment and performed routine maintenance and performance testing on a range of medical equipment.
