The person has met the Distinction criteria for each component of the end-point assessment for the Bricklayer apprenticeship standard. Bricklayers construct and repair walls, foundations, partitions, arches. The range of sites and projects that bricklayers will work on include large commercial developments, new builds in housing, alterations, extensions and restorations. (City & Guilds code: 9077-12)
The person has been assessed independently by City & Guilds as having achieved all Distinction criteria for each component of the end-point assessment. This person can carry out all the activities undertaken by a bricklayer. They lay bricks, blocks and other building components in mortar to construct and repair structure such as walls, foundations, partitions, arches. They might also refurbish brickwork and masonry on restoration projects.
This person is self-motivated, has a positive and mature attitude and is quality focused. They will also work and communicate well with others.
