Earning Criteria

Prepare cutting tool assembly, including fitting/inspecting cutters, inspecting holders and selecting cutter application features/attributes to manufacturer’s technical data references. Align tailstock and headstock centers; set up/face the workpiece to be drilled w/center drill which can accept the 60-degree points lathe center; any facing, knurling, OD grooving threading, and turning. Use appropriate drive plate to rotate workpiece.

Execute machining applications: drilling face/peripheral/plunge/slot milling and reaming; material prep of bar stock sizes, cutting blanks and deburring; operations of deburring and part loading. Inspect w/out feature size, position/surface/finish verification, and hole/thread gaging. Interpret block tolerances, line types/conventions, orthographic projection, surface finish requirements, and title blocks /revisions.
